Sex Advice Biggest Google Topic Down Under
Search engine inundated with sex queries
Sex was the most popular topic among Australians when it comes to searching for information on Google. Over the last three months, sex advice has been the most popular "how to" query in the search engine. This, experts say, shows that Australians, particularly those in their teens and early twenties, now depend on the Internet for information on sex rather than their friends or parents.
Other than sex, Australians also seem to need help when it comes to making out. "How to kiss" clocked in as the second most popular search topic. Search queries also touch on topics such as asking a woman out on a date and becoming attractive to the opposite sex (this topic is popular among young girls). On the other end of the spectrum, "how to get pregnant" was number in 17 in the query count.
However, it is not all about sex. Australians also looked for advice on losing weight, getting six-pack abs and cooking comfort food like pancakes. The queries rounded out the top 10 list.
Another big concern was Facebook, the popular social networking Web site. Australians seem to need help creating and deleting fan pages. In addition, a lot of searches also pertained to hacking into user accounts.
Information on looking for a job was also a popular search topic. A large number of would-be jobseekers are relying on the search engine to look for information regarding writing cover letters and resumes. Advice on making money was also a popular search query. In spite of the popularity of serious searches, leisurely pursuits such as solving the Rubik's cube, making paper planes and writing a biography also made it to the list.
