A Russian minister, serving under Vladimir Putin’s United Russia Party, and her husband have been killed in an explosion. The semi-naked bodies of the couple discovered at the backseat of their white Toyota RAV4 indicated they could be having sex when a bomb exploded. It is speculated that Nikita unleashed the explosive following a marital row.

Police suspect that Oksana Bobrovskaya, 30, and her husband Nikita Bobrovskaya were killed when the husband detonated a bomb in a fit of jealousy. According to sources, the couple had an argument before the incident and Nikita accused his wife of cheating on him with a wealthy man.

According to Siberian Times , Nikita was found holding a piece of an explosive that appeared to be a grenade or a TNT. All the windows of the car were blown up except the front windscreen.

Oksana was a regional legislative deputy in Novosibirsk, Siberia, while her husband was former special services officer in Russian military. The couple is survived by their four-year-old daughter, who was not in the car with them and is safe. Reportedly, the relationship between the couple had been strained because Nikita was out of work with Oksana being the sole breadwinner for the family.

City Mayor Anatoly Lokot said the incident had nothing to do with terrorism and the death of the minister was the result of family problems.

Evgenia Romanova, an eye witness to the incident, said, “I looked out of the window and saw this all carnage. My husband went down to the street, and I looked through the window. It was horrific something you would not wish anyone to see. No heads, glass covered in blood — a nightmare.”

Both the minister’s and her husband’s faces were disfigured due to the explosion. According to sources, “Presumably during a fierce conflict he began to force her to perform her conjugal duty by threats.”
