Ronda Rousey, who returns to the octagon Friday for the first time since getting knocked out by Holly Holm last year, appears to be in pristine physical condition ahead of her UFC 207 showdown with reigning bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.

Ever since Rousey lost to Holm in Melbourne last November, several detractors have writen her off as a legitimate threat to Nunes, who captured the bantamweight title at UFC 200 earlier this year. Many odds makers in Las Vegas have favoured Nunes to win the fight, something that has evidently irked Rousey.

Last week, Rousey posted several Instagram training images accompanied by the hashtag #FearTheReturn. On Wednesday, she posted the following body comparison shot on Instagram.

The shot on the left is Rousey in Feb. 2015, prior to her fight against Cat Zingano at UFC 184, a bout which the former Olympic bronze medallist won in just 14 seconds with her signature armbar. The shot to the right which shows Rousey in impeccable physical shape was taken just a few days back.

UFC 207: Ronda Rousey skips media day, irks Amanda Nunes

Earlier this week, Rousey skipped the customary pre-PPV media day which led to Nunes calling out the UFC star. “I don’t know what is wrong with this girl (Rousey), I’m going to be honest with you. If she wants to play these games, she’s playing with the wrong person. I’m very focused and I know how I’m going to stop her. I can’t wait," the champion told reporters, via MMA Junkie.

Rousey opened up about her comeback on "Countdown to UFC 207" -- a documentary that aired last week. “Fighting is my life and I need to do it again. After going through all of that (defeat to Holm), I have a much bigger point to make this time."

The UFC's first-ever female star opined that she was under more pressure than her opponent. "I have more experience (than Nunes) being under the most pressure possible, and the pressure’s different. I’m still the greatest fighter in the world.“I’m coming back to win this title for the people that believed in me. Everything in my whole life that I’ve always worked for. Everything depends on it. Everything is at stake," concluded Rousey, who has a 12-1 MMA record.
