World No. 2 Rafael Nadal squares off against American Donald Young in the second-round of the 2017 Wimbledon on Wednesday evening. Young, the 43rd ranked player in the world, is a former junior champion at The All-England Tennis Club and advanced past Denis Istomim in his first round match on Monday.

Despite his inability to get past the second round in seven precious Wimbledon appearances, Young has given himself "a puncher's chance" to upset the mighty Nadal. "I’m not going to say I’m going to lose because what would be the point in going out there? I’m going to give it my best, I’m sure he’s going to give it his best like normal but I feel like if I’m playing well I’ll have a puncher’s chance for sure," Brown told Metro.co.uk.

"It’s always going to be rough playing Rafa. He’s one of the best ever, he’s a champion. He’s won this tournament a couple of times so, you know, the pressure won’t be on me. I can go out there, swing free, and enjoy the moment. I’m sure we’ll play on one of the bigger courts, I’ve never done that here at Wimbledon before so I’m looking forward to it to be honest. I’ve earned the right to be here," added Young, who ranks No. 6 among active American players.

And given Nadal's recent run at the All-England Tennis Club, an upset can't be ruled out. The Spaniard suffered second, first, fourth and second round exits through 2012 to 2015 before pulling out of last year's Wimbledon with a wrist injury.

However, the Spaniard is playing his best tennis since 2014 and that makes him a legitimate threat to the likes of Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. Nadal recently told reporters that he wants to avoid the possibility of playing Federer in a potential dream final. Earlier in the year, Federer beat Nadal in the Australian Open final as the two modern day greats renewed their Grand Slam rivalry.

Nadal leads 23-14 in the head-to-head with his rival, but Federer has won the last four meetings between the pair, including three this year at the Australian Open, Indian Wells and Miami Open.

"If I reach the final, I'd like to face a different opponent than Federer. I don't like to face best players in the final and I think I played against Roger already enough times this year," said Nadal, who beat Federer in the 2008 Wimbledon final after losing to the Swiss Master in the previous two editions.
