One of the new Pyromancer armor sets introduced in the “Outriders: Worldslayer” expansion essentially lifted up the classic Thermal Bomb builds to new heights.

The Heat Seeker set was made with the Thermal Bomb skill in mind, and it definitely delivers on the fantasy of spreading havoc like wildfire, especially in areas where enemies are most dense. This set gives Pyromancers what might just be the fastest clear times in the game.

Here’s how to set up an Anomaly Power build using the new Heat Seeker set in “Outriders: Worldslayer.”

Armor and Mods

The three-piece bonus of the Heat Seeker set lets Thermal Bomb shoot another projectile that tracks down the nearest low-health enemy when the primary target is killed. This projectile deals less damage than a normal Thermal Bomb, but in most cases, it’s enough to trigger a series of explosions.

The following mod setup will increase the upfront damage of Thermal Bomb while also giving players the chance to detonate targets and control every other enemy in a large area with Overheat and Ash Blast:

  • Thermal Reaction
  • Master Consumer
  • Firetrap
  • Detonator
  • Heat Grenade
  • Emergency Stance
  • Overheat
  • Ashen Boost/Branded
  • Unstoppable Force
  • Death Sentence

Class Tree

Either Ash Breaker or Tempest trees will work nicely for this build, though taking perks that increase weapon damage and damage against Ashen enemies tend to be more beneficial later in the game.

For the Pax tree, go down the Pyromaniac branch and take the Arsonist node for maximum cooldown reduction.

Weapons

Players will be able to clear entire rooms with just their abilities alone due to the almost non-existent cooldown on Overheat and the spreading nature of Thermal Bomb. Due to this, it’s safe to forego the usual Deathshield or Final Penance picks for something like Stormbird with Ultimate Lightning Whip and another single-target damage mod.

This build will lack the single-target punch that other Pyro builds have, which is why having a hard-hitting gun is important. Mods like Wrath of Moloch, Shadow Comet, Claymore Torrent and similar picks are highly recommended for fighting elites and bosses.

The Dimensional Rockets mod from the new The Messenger legendary assault rifle is particularly strong in one-on-one scenarios.
