The Newcastle Knights will look to record their first win of the National Rugby League 2016 season when they host the Canberra Raiders, who bids for a third straight win on Saturday.

The Knights will look to bounce back from their lopsided Round 2 loss against the league-leading South Sydney Rabbitohs last week using the same lineup in their losing games. Knights head coach Nathan Brown will opt for youth over experience, admitting that such strategy will cost Newcastle short-term pain in the season, but would most of the youngsters to blossom into long-term NRL players.

“I’ve got no doubt some of the kids who are playing first grade already are guaranteed good long-term players for the club, there’s no doubt about that,” Brown said, reports Fox Sports AU.

Experienced Five-Eighth Jarrod Mullen is also expected to take charge of the Knights’ offense, with the 28-year-old playmaker looking to have his 200th NRL game victorious. Brown hopes Mullen’s milestone and playing at home soil for the first time this season would boost Newcastle’s campaign against the Raiders, who will try to extend their winning streak after a one-pointer victory against the Sydney Roosters in Round 2.

Ricky Stuart could once again go with his remarkable interchange usage that propelled the Raiders to an undefeated record early in the 2016 NRL season. Brenko Lee will replace Joey Leilua at the centre position due to a two-week suspension.
