The iPhone 6 and the Nokia Lumia Icon are two phones with almost the same size screens. When compared with each other there is always a gap between the performances of a Windows 8 phone and an iOS. Apple iPhones work on a stable iOS, Windows 8 is in its early stage and is not stable as the iOS or Android. So definitely there is a performance gap between the iPhone 6 and the Nokia Lumia Icon.

Design

Apples design for its iPhone has always been clean and simple lines with good UI, the new version of iPhones are rounded at the edges. It has also increased the size of the screen to 4.7 inches this may not seem large until it is held in the hand. The Retinal display with high pixel density and a resolution of 1,334 x 750 that delivers clarity in the display. The Nokia Lumia Icon has a large screen that is 5 inches and 1,920 x 1,080 p with a higher ppi makes the Windows phone more detailed. Regarding the choice of the operating system Apple has made third party installations available on their iOS so the choices of apps are more. So to change over from an iOS to any other platform does not hold good.

Power

Both the iPhone 6 and the Nokia Lumia Icon have the latest technology for processing and memory. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 is a very good processor and not much is known about Apples A8 processor, but it is said that it is better than the A7. Due to close integration between the hardware and the software in the iPhone it increases its optimization. According to DigitalTrends the metal interface has allowed developers to get closer to the kind of graphical and hardware tools that desktop programmers do, a change for the normally closed iOS ecosystem and the difference they state is clear. The HD display is very good and makes the iOS a winner over Windows 8

Camera

The Nokia Lumia Icon has the Carl Zeiss optics in the camera of 20 mega pixels. Nokia definitely has a higher quality camera and can shoot videos in 1,080p. The iPhone 6 has slow motion video capture up to 240 frames per second. However, the Nokia Lumia cannot match the stability of the iPhone 6.

The choice between the two phones would be its performace including the clock speed of the processor and size of the RAM. Nokia has a 2 GB RAM and the iPhone 6 has 1 GB of RAM, but like mentioned before the hardware and software integration in the iOS is greater than the Lumia and Windows 8 is still in its infancy so definitely the iPhone 6 has an edge over the Lumia.
