After struggling with the San Francisco 49ers in the 2014 regular season of the National Football League, or NFL and with injuries in previous years, Michael Crabtree is moving to the Oakland Raiders.

The 27-year-old wide receiver and the Raiders have agreed to a contract worth $3 million for one year, according to a report from ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Crabtree also confirmed the signing on social media Twitter on Monday.

According to the same report, Crabtree can earn an extra $2 million with incentives depending on his production in the upcoming NFL season. Crabtree, who was the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, had a below average 2014 season with the 49ers after suffering from an Achilles injury in 2013.

The Raiders badly need help from the wide receiver position and will battle for a start spot for the team led by second-year quarterback Derek Carr. The Raiders also have a high pick in the upcoming 2015 NFL Draft picking fourth overall in the annual rookie selection. and is expected to consider drafting another wide receiver.

Crabtree, who spent the first six seasons with the 49ers, played all 16 games last regular season but only produced 698 receiving yards with four touchdowns. In 2013 when he struggled with the foot injuries, he only played in 5 games. His career year came in 2012 when he helped the 49ers to the NFC championship and was the NFC’s postseason receiving yards leader with 285 yards and NFC’s postseason receiving touchdowns leader with three TDs. He recorded 1,105 receiving yards in the regular season that year, the only time he had 1,000-plus receving yards in six seasons in the NFL.
