The second week of March has arrived with more new Steam games than anyone could ask for. Below is a list of four titles released on Steam in the past few days, randomly chosen yet all worth checking out. Here you’ll see a haunting scavenger hunt, an icy battle royale game, a comedic adventure experience, and an RPG on its second shot for redemption.

‘Deadstep’ – Developer: Sangwoon Jin

You can’t see the ghosts in “Deadstep,” which makes it all the more terrifying. In this game, you are tasked with finding various items necessary to exorcise the violent spirits inhabiting a mansion. That is if they don’t exorcise the daylights out of you first.

‘Darwin Project’ – Developer: Scavengers Studio

Here’s a battle royale game that may give PUBG and “Fortnite” a run for their money. With plans for an official release soon, “Darwin Project” is still an Early Access title that shows plenty of promise. What makes this PvP offering stand out are features like the Show Director, which allows total control over the arena, and live spectator interactions, which lets stream viewers vote for the outcome of a particular match.

‘Chuchel’ – Developer: Amanita Design

From the creators of “Machinarium” and “Botanicula” comes “Chuchel,” a puzzle adventure game that retains all the wit and charm of its predecessors. It’s funny without being corny, and players are expected to laugh their way through a set of ingenious puzzles designed to make you think out of the box.

‘Earthlock’ – Developer: Snowcastle Games

Earthlock” is an overhauled version of “Earthlock: Festival of Magic,” a Kickstarter RPG released to mixed reviews in 2016. The passionate developers do think that the game deserves another chance, hence this re-release. What’s different this time around? New weapons, abilities, side quests, NPCs, creatures—it’s like a completely new game even for those who have played the original. Be wary, though; this game can be challenging even for veteran players.
