New Steam games are always finding their way into Valve’s digital platform no matter the season. Christmas means spending time with loved ones, but a video game can also be a loved one, right? Listed below are a few games that have been released on Steam in the past few days.

‘Rumu’ – Developer: Robot House

We’ve already covered this then-upcoming game from Sydney-based developer Robot House back in October, and it’s finally here. “Rumu” tells the story of the titular robot tasked with looking after a Smart Home. You start by cleaning the house, as is your job, but further on, you begin to discover secrets behind every door.

The game boasts top-notch voice acting and emotional music, both complementing the robot’s emotional journey to sentience. “Rumu” is definitely for fans of point-and-click adventures with a heart.

‘Finding Paradise’ – Developer: Freebird Games

The game has an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam as of this writing, proving there really is a huge market for emotionally-charged narrative games. Those who’ve played (and cried over) the first episode “To the Moon” are more than likely to pick up “Finding Paradise.” Newbies of the series, however, can still catch up and see what the fuss is all about.

Think of the game as a happier version of a “Black Mirror” episode. “Finding Paradise” tells of Dr Rosalene and Dr Watts working to grant the wishes of the dying. They visit patients on their deathbeds and implant new memories before their last breath. The game centres on a new patient, so no need to have played “To the Moon.”

‘Gorogoa’ – Developer: Buried Signal

Another Overwhelmingly Positive title, “Gorogoa” is a puzzle game. Here, the players must tinker with illustrated panels to come up with something new. Perhaps combining these panels will create a larger picture; other times it may help a character get from one place to another. It’s a simple yet effective premise, brought to life by the artwork of developer Jason Roberts.
