Internet service provider MyNetFone claims that it has been already offering one terabyte (TB) plans for several months as iiNet, Spin, Primus, TPG and Internode continues to receive publicity for their announcements of similar terabyte broadband offerings.

The company's offering is only available as a $99.95 Naked DSL plan that comes bundled with two MyNetFone VoIP lines. The plans are available from MyNetFone through Optus enabled exchanges. A contract-free service has a $199 setup fee, while service on 12 and 24 month contracts cost $49.

In an interview with iTWire.com, Rene Sugo, MyNetFone director, said that the plans had been available for the past four months. "Our most popular plan is our $49 100GB offering. $50 per month is definitely the sweet spot," Sugo said, adding that the take up remains small.

"We had a flurry of enquiries when iiNet bought AAPT and announced they were going to drop AAPT's unlimited plan."

Rivals such iiNet and iPrimus offer terabyte plans that differentiate between peak and off-peak use. Internode, on the other hand, does not differentiate between peak and off peak hours.

MyNetFone's plan can be used anytime and has no limit at off-peak times, which is from midnight to 10am. In contrast with other plans that count uploads and downloads into the quota, MyNetFone's offering only measures downloads.
