A Serie A contender could be plotting a transfer swoop for a Manchester United star, according to a report.

After failing to win the Serie A title this past season, AC Milan is looking to land a formidable goalkeeper. In an apparent attempt to intensify its shotstopping, the Italian side has set its sights on Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, Football Insider reported, citing unnamed sources. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

The Rossoneri is ready to launch a bid for Henderson, who is not willing to prolong his stay at Manchester United should the club hesitate to make him its no. 1 goalkeeper, the report said.

Recently confirming his case to become Manchester United’s first choice shotstopper, Henderson stressed that he is “100%” sure about his stance on the subject.

"Yeah, 100%,” Henderson said about becoming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s primary goalkeeper. “I've spoke about this for years. Whether it gets me in trouble speaking about it, whether it holds me back at certain times, it probably does.”

"But at the end of the day it'll happen one day and I know it'll happen, so I'm just going to keep working hard day in, day out and my time will come,” he continued. “I was 100% born ready.”

Henderson further said that he has been giving it all he has to earn the spot, and he is confident that his hard work will soon pay off.

"I've just got to be ready for when that time comes. There's no excuses when you step over that white line,” the 24-year-old added. “You've got to puff your chest out and go for it and everything that you've put in day in, day out, all the training, everything, pays off."

As for Manchester United boss Solskajer’s take on the matter, it appears that the Norwegian has entrusted the shotstopping job to Henderson, having handed the player 10 starts in the club’s last 12 English Premier League matches this past season.

Though it seems like only few could argue about Henderson’s dedication on the pitch, it appears that his attitude off of it isn’t too pleasing.

An earlier report claimed that Henderson is being somewhat of a “big time Charlie” behind the scenes, and Manchester United boss Solskjaer isn’t too happy about it. Hence, the Red Devils are not closing the door on possibly selling of the keeper “for the right price,” the report claimed.
