Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James’ marketing agency is ending its partnership with the controversial Cleveland Browns quarterback, Johnny Manziel. James’ marketing agency, LRMR was responsible for representing Manziel in endorsement deals.

"We've decided to end our formal business relationship with Johnny. I will continue to support and advise him as a friend," Maverick Carter, James’ business manager, said to Cleveland.com. "However, because Johnny needs to focus on personal growth and the next phase of his career and because LRMR continues to expand beyond marketing, we made the mutual decision to best terminate our business relationship."

Another marketing group, Fenway Sports Management, is also leaving Manziel off its roster. James remained supportive of Manziel, who was signed to the former’s marketing agency in 2014, saying that the Browns QB will “figure it out at some point."

Manziel, who has the nickname “Johnny Football,” has been involved in a variety of controversies during the 2015 regular season and ever since the Browns drafted him as the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Back in college, Manziel was also involved a few other controversies. During one game, he taunted an opponent by pretending to sign an autograph in his face. Manziel was investigated by the NCAA for selling autographs at around the time of the incident.

The latest controversy for the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner in college was his rumoured presence in a Las Vegas casino even as he missed the last game of the season for the Browns because of a concussion in the previous game.

Recently, police in Ohio also confirmed that the 23-year-old Manziel was cited for driving with expired license plates and was given a traffic ticket for the offence.

In his second season in the league, Manziel has failed to establish himself as a starting quarterback in the NFL playing in just nine games for the year. In the 2015 regular season, he has logged 1,500 passing yards on 129-of-223 completions with 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
