Jimuel Pacquiao had the chance of a lifetime in meeting Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and made the best out of it when he stepped in the ring for a training session.

The eldest son of legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao entered Alvarez’s secret boxing gym in San Diego, California and showed glimpses of the talent that his father had.

Alvarez’s longtime trainer Eddy Reynoso put the young Pacquiao through the same wringer that he puts the current No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in.

Whenever Pacquaio struggled to get the movements down pat, Alvarez himself would jump into the session to demonstrate the right combinations and techniques.

Alvarez even gifted Pacquiao a pair of his gloves from his own line "No Boxing No Life" at the tail-end of their training session, a moment that the 20-year-old will surely remember in the years to come.

Before the two started that day’s training, Pacquiao shared his opinion on Alvarez’s upcoming fight against Caleb Plant and claimed that the Mexican will finish the fight by Round Eight.

Back in early 2019, Manny himself said that he was discouraging Jimuel from getting into the sport.

"We are really discouraging him. In our home, we don't have any gloves or boxing equipment. I told him I only took up boxing because we were poor. It was a way for me to support my family,” Pacquiao told ABS-CBN News via ESPN Philippines.

However, the elder Pacquiao later acquiesced to Jimuel’s desires to step into the ring and allowed him to train.

“(With him) it's different, how can you be motivated if your life is okay? That's the big question. That's why we're observing him, ‘Okay, we'll support you. But we're closely looking at him,’” the legendary fighter remarked to ABS-CBN News in June 2019.

Manny decided to retire from boxing following an unsuccessful challenge for the WBA welterweight title currently held by Yordenis Ugas, deciding to run for presidency of the Philippines in the upcoming 2022 elections.

While the father’s boxing career has ended, the eldest of the Pacquiao siblings truly is his father’s son and it might not be long before the world sees another Pacquiao in the ring.
