"Horizon Forbidden West" is still a few weeks away from its official release but a new set of leaks may have given away the upcoming game's PlayStation 4 build, its core contents and other details.

Several images of the supposed previous generation build of "Horizon Forbidden West," reportedly taken from a leaked PS4 copy, have recently surfaced on the microblogging site Twitter.  The leak's veracity has been confirmed by several industry watchers and gaming sites.

One gaming site claimed that aside from some "missing assets," the leak featured the whole "core content," which was supposedly planned for the game's final copy or commercial release. To further fuel the claims that the leak was genuine, some of the images were later removed from Twitter due to "a report from the copyright holder."

The images first surfaced on Reddit and they had no description aside from the claim that they were leaked and "jailbreak-related." Fortunately, it appears that the pirated version of the game is not in circulation.

Earlier, PlayStation-exclusive game "The Last of Us 2" was also leaked ahead of its official release, spoiling the game's entire plot. Many suspected before that the leak was done by a disgruntled employee but it turned out that hackers who gained access to the game developer's servers got hold of the game's almost complete version.

"Horizon Forbidden West" is not coming out until Feb. 18 and while some fans are excited to get a hold of the game, others choose to mute their social media accounts keywords related to the title so they won't get spoilers. Sony previously announced the game will release on PS5 in June 2020 and confirmed its PlayStation 4 version in September last year.

Guerilla Games, the studio behind the upcoming title, assured fans of a number of significant improvements in the game compared to its predecessor. Aside from Aloy having new tricks, fans can also see new tools and gadgets, a more open free climbing system, as well as an overhauled skill tree, to name a few.
