MiHoYo announces the first collab between "Honkai" and "Genshin Impact."

An upcoming in-game event of “Honkai Impact 3rd” will feature special appearances from a few “Genshin Impact” characters, including one who will be permanently added to the game’s roster of playable characters.

MiHoYo, the developer of both games, announced the upcoming collab event via Twitter for “Honkai’s” Patch 4.9 update. Official sources have not yet shown any more information, but a gameplay preview clip from the developer’s Bilibili stream has been making rounds on the internet.

The video, which is in Chinese, was posted on the r/Genshin_Impact subreddit. According to the video, the characters Fischl and Keqing will become playable characters in “Honkai Impact 3rd,” with both of their movesets being updated to fit the game’s fast, combo-based combat.

The “Honkai” versions of Fischl and Keqing have significantly faster and flashier moves compared to their original versions.

Fischl’s attacks now feature Electro-infused arrows with combos that weave in Oz’s own lightning-quick strikes. Meanwhile, Keqing gains what appears to be a permanent Electro buff to her basic attacks as well as the ability to fire Electro shockwaves from her sword.

Andrius, the Boreal Wolf, also appears in the collab event as a boss that players can fight. Much like Fischl and Keqing, Andrius has also received a set of new attacks that better fit “Honkai’s” faster-paced fights. Additionally, enemies like Slimes and Ruin Guards are reportedly going to be included in the event.

Players who log in to “Honkai Impact” during the event will be able to obtain Fischl as a permanent addition to their lineup, DualShockers reported. Unfortunately, Keqing will only be available as a limited, event-only character. Once the event is over, only Fischl will remain. Lastly, a Klee-based costume for Kiana will also be added to the game.

Bows will be available to craft in the Foundry as part of Fischl’s inclusion in the game. However, this may imply that a new archer-type Valkyrie may soon be added to the game as well.

Fans of both “Genshin Impact” and “Honkai” have long been speculating about the two games’ connection to each other, especially with “Genshin’s” Traveler being able to cross worlds. It’s not yet known what implications this crossover might have with “Genshin Impact’s” overarching lore, but fans are hoping that a reverse collab may be coming in the future as well.
