James Gunn, the director of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” answered some of the questions of the fans in a live question and answer session about the movie. He teased fans about the possibility of a major character being dead in the sequel and shared details about characters like Drax. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]

Fans of the franchise who have watched “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie will remember watching the baby Groot dance towards the end of the movie. But James Gunn in a Q&A session on Facebook said that baby Groot may be Groot’s son.

“Well, who says baby Groot is Groot and not Groot's son. He might be dead,” James Gunn said. The 2014 movie showed that the character extended his branches to save the other heroes in the movie. The branch shell saved the other superheroes, but Groot had sacrificed himself for his friends in the emotional scene. One of the heroes that the character saved was Drax.

James Gunn revealed that Drax is the only one in “Guardians of the Galaxy” who prefers to go shirtless in space. The director said that this was because the character had “sensitive nipples.” The character is also the only one among heroes who had a “happy family life,” before the villain Ronan took it away from him.

The director said the scene where Drax talks about going after Thanos was put there for the comic book fans who know that Drax was “created with the sole purpose of destroying Thanos.” The mad titan made a very brief appearance in the movie and the main focus was on Ronan as the villain.

James talked about the fight scene between Ronan and Drax. The director said that the original fight scene that was filmed involved Ronan repeatedly kicking Drax when he was on the ground and that the original scene made the villain look “less powerful.” The movie however only showed the characters fighting with their hands and later Ronan dragged the hero to a tank of a yellow chemical.

The director recognized that some of the fans did not like it when Drax called Gamora a whore in the movie. He said that Drax had “heard people saying that to her in the Kyln.” He asked the fans not to blame the character.

James Gunn did not reveal any details about key aspects about “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” the identity of Peter Quill's father still remains a secret. The director said that he had everything “worked out” for the sequel but there will be changes from the comic books.
