Weeks after “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11 finale aired on March 11, Jerrika Hinton dished on what viewers can expect from her character Dr. Stephanie Edwards in the upcoming season 12 of the ABC medical television series created by Shonda Rhimes.

In the upcoming “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12, Hinton explained in an interview with Vibe that viewers will most likely see Dr. Stephanie Edwards boss up as the character will deal with a new set of interns and see who among them can handle the pressure in the O.R.

Noting that it is a gift when fans can trust her with a journey, Hinton also revealed that Dr. Stephanie Edwards may have a romantic relationship with one of the interns. In 2012, she joined the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy,” which premiered in 2005.

Also in 2012, Hinton wrote, directed and starred in the short film “The Strangely Normal.” Prior to “Grey’s Anatomy,” Hinton played small roles in several TV series including “Terriers,” “Mad Love,” “Bones,” “Consequences,” “Scandal” and “The Book Club.”

Aside from playing Dr. Stephanie Edwards in “Grey’s Anatomy,” Hinton is also executive producing an indie feature titled “Solace,” which is based on a film that director Tchaiko Omawale made years ago that she said she saw at a festival and fell in love with instantly.

Meanwhile, former “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has expressed his opinion on Rhimes’ decision to kill off major character Dr. Derek Shepherd played by Patrick Dempsey even before season 11 finale.

Having played Denny Duquette, one of the most memorable “Grey’s Anatomy” characters, Morgan told HuffPost Live that he understands the exit of Dempsey’s character and the ABC drama “being ready to move forward and introduce some new storylines.”

Morgan said 10 years is a long time and he does not think he could last in anything doing a character for a decade. The actor is still being constantly asked about Denny Duquette, which he played from 2006 to 2009, but he does not mind because he owes his success to “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Morgan is set to star in mini-series “Texas Rising” and “The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.” He has also just completed the mystery thriller “Solace,” which is different from the indie feature Hinton is executive producing.
