Web sites from Google get more hits from Australian residents than any other brand online. The company, which even beat out Facebook, had about an average of 12.7 million unique users logging on to its Web sites every month.

According to a Nielsen report, Web sites owned by Microsoft averaged 11.4 million unique users every month, making it the second most visited brand online.

The top ten most visited parent companies in the country are Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Telstra, Yahoo!, News Corp Online, eBay, Australian Federal Government, Wikimedia Foundation and Fairfax Digital Australia and New Zealand.

Yahoo! showed the biggest movement in comparison to Nielsen figures from the previous quarter. The company passed eBay and News Corp Online for fifth place in the most visited Web sites tally.

In addition, the ten most popular online brands in the country include Google, NineMSN/MSN, Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo!, Youtube, News Digital Media, Wikipedia, Fairfax Digital Media and Apple.
