The Washington Wizards (36-25) will host the Golden State Warriors (47-14) at the Capital One Arena on Wednesday evening (Thursday AEDT). Despite playing without franchise point guard John Wall, the Wizards have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA, winning eight of their 11 games in the month of February. They are coming off a set of impressive wins against the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks.

Scott Brooks' team has the opportunity to end the month with a morale-boosting win against Golden State, the reigning NBA champions and the class of the league.

The Warriors have been in the new for their off-court activities. After refusing to visit US President Donald Trump in the White House, the Warriors recently paid a trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. They were accompanied by children from of Kevin Durant's hometown, Prince George's County.

While the Warriors spent a few additional days in the nation's capital, the Wizards pulled off an impressive 107-104 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday for their third victory in four games since the All-Star break. Bradley Beal, who has been shouldering more load in Wall's absence, made a clutch three-pointer to seal the deal against the Bucks.

"It was a playoff-type game. We needed this game to tie up the series. They needed to go up, especially when it comes down to seedings, but we took full advantage of the game. (We) made plays down the stretch, and it was all about our defence getting stops when we needed to, and we hit some big shots down the stretch," Beal was quoted as saying by ESPN.

The rejuvenated Warriors have won three consecutive games since the All-Star break, including a season-defining 112-80 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder last Saturday. After a competitive first half, the Warriors dominated proceedings in the third quarter to run away with the game.

"Our third quarters have been great all year. It is not like we are doing anything different. I think we wear teams down a little bit," coach Steve Kerr said after Monday's win against the New York Knicks, another game in which the Warriors upped the ante in the third quarter.
