MiHoYo has revealed a short glimpse of the upcoming events for “Genshin Impact” along with a slew of other new and exciting additions that fans can anticipate once the new year arrives.

A quick overview of upcoming events was showcased in the latest “Genshin Impact” Special Program, which was live-streamed over several social media platforms. Fans can expect the usual set of limited-time events that will reward players with bundles of resources and Primogems that may come in useful with the stacked lineup of character banners that’ll be going live with Update 2.4

Here’s a quick rundown of every new event in the coming patch.

The Lantern Rite Festival

Most of 2.4’s events will be tied to Liyue’s Lantern Rite Festival. This will be the second time players will be able to experience this event, but instead of Xiao being the center of attention, this year’s festival will feature Keqing and Ningguang.

This year’s Lantern Rite will have several sub-events that will have players completing different tasks for various rewards, including:

  • Making and launching fireworks
  • Solving shadow puzzles (similar to “Resident Evil 7”)
  • Salvaging materials from Ningguang’s old Jade Chamber

The final part of the event will have players fight a new boss resembling a giant sea serpent. It’s unknown if this boss will remain after the festival.

Completing all of the challenges will reward players with one free 4-star Liyue character, which includes the new Geo character Yun Jin.

A Study In Potions

In this event, players will travel back to Mondstadt and help the local alchemist Timaeus with brewing special potions.

Despite the name, this event is combat-oriented; players will need to clear several floors of enemies to unlock rewards. Potions will be available to players during this event, which will grant them specific buffs depending on the potion type.

Eight Locales Over Mountains And Seas

Unlike the other events, this one is designed to be more relaxing. Players will get a chance to take Kichiboushi, one of the bake-danukis of Inazuma, around Mondstadt and Liyue for a short sightseeing and picture-taking trip.

Windtrace Rerun

Lastly, Windtrace is going to get its first rerun in “Genshin Impact” for those who missed out on it earlier this year. Players will get another shot at obtaining the event’s unique rewards once it goes live in Patch 2.4.
