A Full-Packed 50 Lane Highway Greeted People Coming into Beijing
China celebrated their National Day to mark the founding of People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949. This is a semi-annual 7-day national holiday, implemented in 2000 which starts on the 1st of October and ends on the 7th day.
After a week-long ‘National Day Golden Week’ celebration, people started coming back to Beijing and the traffic jam was just crazy. Miles and miles of cars filled-up the 50-lane highway as they slowly inched their way into the city.
It was reported that a checkpoint on the other side of the toll booth caused this ridiculous traffic jam that has ruined and ended the holiday mood of most local residents.
