Fujitsu Australia formalizes a $151.3 million deal with the Australian Department of Defence. The contract, which involves IT managed services, has a duration of three years with an extension options of up to 20 years. Due to the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu will provide services for the Distributed Computing Central Services (DCCS) contract, which includes the Defence Central ICT Service Helpdesk.

For the agreement, Fujitsu will provide support for 90,000 desktops around Australia. It will also work closely with the Department of Defence for its Strategic Reform agenda for ICT.

"We were able to build on the history and the strength of the relationship by bringing additional value to the table. It gives us a great foundation to expand our relationship in the future," said Rod Vawdrey, the CEO of Fujitsu.

"We developed a good commercial arrangement where they can have the flexibility to ramp up and meet the revolving requirements."

Vawdrey adds that the company's presence in the capital had grown significantly and that there are plans to add more staff.
