Manchester United’s midfield artist Bruno Fernandes fully believes that having Cristiano Ronaldo on their side will boost their chances of winning multiple silverware this season.

According to the club’s website, Fernandes admitted that Ronaldo’s winning mentality is a great benefit to a club that has been starving for titles, with their last English Premier League title coming eight years ago.

“We know the enthusiasm will be red hot, everyone knows Cristiano is in the house,” Fernandes said while away with the Portuguese international team.

“Everyone is very confident and happy that he is back, the players too. We know what he can give us, and our focus, like Cristiano’s, is to win. With him, we know we are closer to winning [trophies].”

Ronaldo and Fernandes are yet to come together at the Red Devils' training facility in Carrington, but they do have a shared history as they are both part of the Portuguese international football team.

Fernandes has had a great impact on Manchester United since joining the club in the summer transfer window of 2019-20, after they paid Sporting CP--Ronaldo’s youth club--€80 million ($94.7 million) to acquire him.

The pair have enjoyed great individual success during the scheduled international break.

Fernandes was part of the team that faced Qatar in a friendly and netted a penalty plus an assist in their FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Azerbaijan.

As for Ronaldo, the once-in-a-lifetime superstar scored two goals in their qualifier against Ireland, breaking the men’s international goalscoring record, prior to linking up with his teammates to train at Carrington.

European football and the entire world are still buzzing about Ronaldo’s improbable return to Manchester United as it was widely reported, even by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, that a move to Manchester City was a “done deal”.

Within 24 hours, things changed as his former Manchester United teammates were able to convince him otherwise and the 36-year-old made the choice to rejoin his former club.

Ronaldo is expected to make his on-field return to Old Trafford when they face Newcastle United at home on September 11.
