On Jan. 20, 2015, YouTube channel Andrewmfilms published a short fan-created film entitled "Fallout vs Skyrim", a video which features a cross-over battle between two popular video game franchises developed by Bethesda game Studios, "Fallout 3" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." Directed by Joe Ochterbeck, it stars Seth McMurry as the "Fallout" player character Vault Boy and Joe Ochterbeck as the Dovahkiin of "Skyrim" fame.

The video starts as Vault Boy drinks a beverage called Nuka-Cola and accesses his Pip-Boy, a "Fallout" series signature device attached to the main character's arm. He uses the Pip-Boy in order to fast travel to a location set in the "Fallout 3" universe, but the device fails and sends him off to the fantasy world of "Skyrim" instead. Vault Boy lands on a forest and is soon found by Dovahkiin, who attempts to kill him with a two-handed blade. Vault Boy evades the attack and retaliates with his firearm.

The battle commences as the two characters start to hurl their respective series' signature attacks and spells at each other. Both combatants utilise a variety of weapons and recovery items in attempts to gain the upper hand. Another Pip-Boy malfunction teleports both Vault Boy and Dovahkiin to "Fallout" territory, where the battle reaches its conclusion.

Nathan Grayson of Kotaku says, "Suffice it to say, it's brilliant," in an article he wrote about the video. In another article published by Game Informer, writer Kyle Hilliard summarises the video's plot as "know that these two immediately dislike each other, and only one can leave with all their limbs attached."

The 3 minute, 14 second video "Fallout vs Skyrim" has gotten over 10,000 thumbs-up to date. Watch this video here.
