Ben Eccles and Lucas Herbert decided to turn pro a day before the start of the 2015 Australian Masters, where both are expected to play.

“It’s always a dream as a kid to be able to play on the PGA Tour, to win the US Masters or even the Australian Open. I’ve always wanted to do it since I picked up a club at age two,” the 19-year-old Herbert said to Golf Australia on Wednesday. “It’ll just be pretty exciting being a professional playing in the event. It’s one of those events you grow up watching, thinking, ‘I’d love to play that one day.’"

Herbert placed second at the 2013 Lexus of Blackburn Heritage Classic, and he admitted that his performance in that tournament has given him the confidence to turn pro.

“It leaves me 10 months ahead of where I planned to be. I’m really happy with the decision that I’ve made and I’m really looking forward to what’s to come,” the 20-year-old Eccles said in the same article.

Eccles and Herbert are ranked 64th and 69th, respectively, in the World Amateur Golf Ranking at the time of their decision to turn professional.

The 2015 Australian Masters is scheduled from Nov. 19 to Nov. 22 at the Huntingdale Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. A total of 120 players will play in the event, and the final player list can be seen on the tournament’s official website.
