Spamming abilities has never felt so consistent in “Destiny 2” as it does now, and it’s largely due to how the updated Solar subclass works.

Many builds in the past were finely tuned to allow for as much ability regeneration as possible. Now, players can simply put on a few aspects, fragments and mods to be able to use their grenades, melees and class abilities without much regard for cooldown timers.

Titans, in particular, can go through entire activities while only relying on their Solar powers. This build focuses on maximum add-clearing potential without firing a single bullet by using grenades, hammers and shockwaves.

The Loadout

As the build’s name implies, the primary exotic armor piece here is the Ashen Wake gauntlets, which improve Fusion Grenades and refund grenade energy after scoring a kill with them. Stronger enemies refund more energy, while grenade final blows on bosses and Guardians fully recharge the ability.

With this exotic, Fusion Grenades gain intrinsic Fastball and will explode on impact, essentially turning Titans into walking grenade launchers. This is great for clearing swathes of weak enemies in PvE and finishing off weakened Guardians in PvP.

Use the following mods to minimize the downtime between grenade throws:

  • Bountiful Wells
  • Melee Wellmaker
  • Explosive Wellmaker
  • Well of Ordnance
  • Grenade Kickstart

This mod setup will double the number of wells that spawn from melee abilities and grenade kills while also granting more grenade energy per well. Players will be able to regain much of their Fusion Grenade energy from a single red-bar kill in PvE with this while still having a fallback plan through melee attacks.

The Subclass

Roaring Flames is mandatory for this build since it focuses on using abilities. Consecration is a solid second choice as it allows for better wave clear, but Sol Invictus is also good if players need more survivability.

For fragments, use the following:

  • Ember of Singeing
  • Ember of Searing
  • Ember of Ashes
  • Ember of Blistering

Singeing and Searing can be replaced with Eruption and Char since Titans are able to cause Solar Ignitions by punching enemies while Roaring Flames is active. Punch enemies twice and hit them with a Fusion Grenade to cause ignitions and proc the related fragments.
