Stephen Curry continues to be the Golden State Warriors' top star.

However, that does not exclude him from rumors that could lure him away from the Bay Area.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been suggested as the possible landing sport although it would take a lot to acquire the services of the two-time NBA MVP.

Without question, seeing Curry leave Dub City is a long shot. He is a polarizing figure in Golden State, the only team he has played for the past 11 years.

Although the team continues to rebuild to bring back their glory days, it remains that the 33-year-old guard has tried to keep the fortunes of the Dubs afloat.

It would be a big shock to see Curry leave the Bay Area and play for another team.

Team owner Joe Lacob has heard of the rumors and stressed that if it should happen, the decision will be up to the seven-time All-Star per a report from The Athletic.

To illustrate, Lacob singled out the case of Kevin Durant, who is now with the Brooklyn Nets.

He admitted that the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player took less money during his tenure from 2016 to 2019. That, however, gave him two NBA championships.

Would Curry do the same? Lacob appears to make it clear that he would not stand in the way.

Even if Curry leaves for some reason, the Warriors owner pointed out that they will always have high admiration and respect for the three-time NBA champion in the same way they did for Durant.

However, he does not see it happening.

"I’m certainly not worried about the guy you mentioned recruiting him. I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Lacob stated.

There were suggestions that the Lakers could make a run at Curry, putting him alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

His contract is expiring after the next season, meaning he would become a free agent by the summer of 2022.

So far, the scenario of Curry parting ways with the Warriors has not gone beyond the rumor mill.

By the looks of it, the possibility of seeing the longtime Warrior going to Hollywood holds a low probability.
