It’s like the start of any other day for any other normal person—a man is fixing his bed, getting ready for the day and having breakfast, albeit in a very meticulous manner. But the viewers immediately latch on to something that makes the entire scene wrong or even creepy.

Then the man goes down to his basement and dons a bloody apron before crying is herd in a background. The unsub proceeds to play out a twisted fantasy of a marital strife between him and a tied-up victim, and things just go horribly wrong when she doesn’t get her line right.

This week on Criminal Minds Season 10 Episode 15, aptly titled “Scream,” the BAU team is dealing with a sadistic unsub who’s venting his anger on his victims. During the investigation, the team uncover the profile of a man who is targeting a specific type of women and projecting his feelings of rage on them.

As “Criminal Minds” Season 10 Episode 15 progresses, the profile shows a man who has been haunted by his childhood trauma. He had always heard his mother’s screams at the hands of her husband, and this time, he plays out the same scene over and over again with his victims. Given that the unsub is channeling the role of both an attacker and a protector of his victims, his nostalgia of the past is the key to solving the case.

BAU veteran David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) stumbles on the fact that the unsub may be keeping a trophy in the form of the victim’s recorded screams. But even as the team starts following the breadcrumbs, the unsub starts to unravel at the seams. From becoming a more careless to regressing into childlike behavior, it seemed like only a matter of time before things start to escalate. As the team discovers the trigger for the killings, the unsub has finally faced a victim is fighting back and trying to escape.

Timing is everything in the last few minutes of “Criminal Minds,” with Jennifer Jareau (A.J. Cook) even getting in a close call with the unsub. Things finally get their resolutions, with viewers getting a closer look at the life and worries of Kate Callahan (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Her worries were almost validated, as Callahan’s niece was actually going to meet up with an online predator, but the meeting was thwarted—for now.

“Criminal Minds” Season 10, episode 15 “Scream” aired on Wednesday Feb. 11. It starred the entire BAU team, Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), Callahan, Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), Jareau, Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). It follows last week’s episode where the team had to solve the murder of Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), who had been most of the team’s mentor way back in season one of “Criminal Minds.”
