New details have emerged about the DICE’s upcoming title, “Star Wars Battlefront.” It appears that the aim may not be as accurate as players would like in this shooter title.

Gamesradar reports that aiming down the ironsights, which is in itself a still unconfirmed feature, will not be possible. DICE Executive Producer Patrick Bach references the fact that in the original Star Wars universe, there are also no ironsights in the ordinary blasters.

According to Bach, the aim for “Star Wars Battlefront” is to ensure that this shooter title will be unique in its own way. This may be in reference to how DICE wants fans to know that “Star Wars Battlefront” is not merely another version of “Battlefield,” but rather a game entirely its own.

“We’re not taking into account what we’ve done before, because I think that would be disrespectful to the fans, and to what we’re trying to achieve here. A lot of the things you saw in the game have nothing to do with anything we’ve done before,” said Bach. For now, this is as much as Bach is willing to divulge about the shooting mechanics of “Star Wars Battlefront.”

This revelation comes after DICE’s descriptive showcase of the team’s design phase, where 12 multiplayer maps have been revealed for the game. This very statement has spurred some interesting response from the fans.

To clarify and answer the questions, DualShockers reports that Community Manager Matthew Everett took to Reddit to confirm or debunk some burning questions. The rather controversial question of whether 12 multiplayer maps are all there is to “Star Was Battlefront” was addressed. According to Everett, the Battle of Jaku maps coming free with the DLC will not be included in the 12 counted maps.

In the meantime, Xbox fans can enjoy the Star Wars-themed Xbox One controllers, which were recently shown off reports GameSpot. The controllers were released in lieu of Star Wars Day, May 4. There are a total of four art concepts featuring iconic Star Wars characters Chewbacca, Boba Fett, C-3PO and a Stormtrooper. However, if indeed it does, these would make for great limited edition controllers to come with a “Star Wars Battlefront” Xbox One bundle in the future.

The link above features screenshots of the art concepts. Note that since these are just concepts, Microsoft may not release this lineup.
