The much-awaited official reveal of "Call of Duty 2021" would reportedly take place sometime this month.

Activision previously confirmed that "Call of Duty 2021" is on track to release this year. However, neither Sledgehammer Games nor Activision has formally revealed the project.

Industry insider Modern Warzone said this year's installment would be officially revealed on the third week of August. If true, fans could hear some initial game teases between Aug. 15 and 21.

The latest leak is not surprising since industry insider Tom Henderson shared some details about the possible reveal window of "Call of Duty 2021" back in February. The insider, known for his accurate leaks related to "Battlefield 2042" and other video games, said "Call of Duty 2021" would be unveiled "mid year" through Warzone.

He added, "We're a while away from a reveal yet, best guess is probably August to coincide with the Black Ops Cold War reveal."

One of the best explanations for the game's potential reveal window happening in August is because of Activision's attendance in Gamescom. The annual gaming event is scheduled to take place between Aug. 25 and 27. Many believe that the video game publisher would officially unveil "Call of Duty 2021" at the event.

Earlier rumors suggested this year's "CoD" installment would be revealed during a "Call of Duty: Warzone" event. A brand new "Warzone" map based on the upcoming game was reportedly in development and would be released later this year.

Activision has, by far, confirmed that a new "Call of Duty" is in development at Sledgehammer. Unfortunately, it has not yet revealed the upcoming game's official title or the date of its release.
