The first season of “Battlefield 2042” is almost live, and with it comes a bunch of interesting new content that will hopefully give the game a much-needed breath of fresh air.

EA released the trailer for the new season, which is called “Zero Hour.” Here, players get a glimpse of what they can expect to see when they return to the battlefield this Thursday.

New Map – Exposure

The first major addition to the game is Exposure, a large map set in a Canadian mountain range. At a glance, it looks very similar to some old “Battlefield 4” maps.

YouTuber LevelCapGaming said that Exposure felt like a traditional “Battlefield” map in terms of overall flow due to the varied engagement distances, well-designed objective areas and overabundance of cover to support infantry players.

Exposure offers everything that “Battlefield” fans want: long-range sniping, open terrain vehicular combat, infantry-only CQB and aerial dogfighting all come together to form what might be “Battlefield 2042’s” best map to date.

New Specialist – Lis

Ewelina Lis is an anti-armor specialist who carries the G-84 TGM Rocket, a handheld TV-guided missile launcher that’s great for tagging vehicles from a safe distance. It’s especially effective against helicopters.

Additionally, nearby damaged enemy vehicles are automatically highlighted on Lis’ HUD, making them easy targets for clean-up hits.

New Weapons and Vehicles

“Zero Hour” introduced the Ghostmaker Crossbow, BSV-M Marksman Rifle and Smoke Grenade Launcher for infantry players.

The BSV-M is essentially a VSS that can be transformed into an AS VAL, which makes it highly adaptable as an automatic sniper weapon or close-quarters assault rifle. Meanwhile, the Ghostmaker can be loaded with different ammunition types like frag bolts for extra versatility.

Season 1 is also introducing the RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal stealth choppers that can activate low-heat mode to prevent missiles from locking on to them.

Lastly, players will be able to equip a dedicated smoke grenade launcher as part of the new season’s content. This utility weapon is especially useful in Breakthrough modes where attacking teams are almost always in dire need of cover. Medics can also use this launcher for reviving teammates in the open.
