"Battlefield 2042" Season 1 might not yet surface this year, but new information obtained through datamining activities has revealed the update's potential release window, weekly missions and other content details, including the first look at a new map called Exposure.

Industry insider and dataminer who goes by the name Temporyal is back once again with the latest information about Electronic Arts' latest FPS title. The insider revealed on Twitter that the "Battlefield 2042" Season 1 update is set to roll out sometime in March 2022.

The release window is not yet official but even if it is accurate, there's a chance that it could still change. The insider also claimed the upcoming update features a brand new map called Exposure.

This map was previously leaked but it was under the name Ridge. Dataminers were able to unearth the in-game description of the map and it offers players insights on what to expect from the game's upcoming location.

"A seismic activity in British Columbia has damaged a Canadian-U.S. research facility base. A landslide has exposed the interior and damaged the surrounding area. The Russians wrongly allege that this has revealed a military weapon and are deploying forces onto Canadian soil to secure it," states the in-game description of the map.

It was first speculated that Exposure is set in Canada's westernmost province of British Columbia. Interestingly, it looks like the latest image of the map [available below] supports this claim.

While the supposed Canadian-U.S. research facility is not shown in the image, the scenery appears to be of Canada's western territory. The insider, however, reminded fans that there is no guarantee that developers would include these leaked details in the game's upcoming Season 1.

In addition to the brand new map and the potential release window, the insider also uncovered the game's Season 1 client features weekly missions for 12 preseason weeks. Unfortunately, the information stops here and the insider did not share any more details about these said missions.

However, based on the way EA and DICE designed "Battlefield 2042," it is safe to say that these missions could involve the typical equipment, kill and objective-centered challenges and activities. Neither EA nor DICE has commented on this latest set of leaks about the game's first season.

"Battlefield 2042" was released on Nov. 19. The game is now available on PC, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, P5 and Xbox One.
