Australian crooner Guy Sebastian, who has been catapulted to singing stardom after being named the first “Australian Idol” in 2003, has an eye condition according to his wife.

TV presenter and celebrity stylist Jules Sebastian recently confirmed that the 34-year-old singer has a condition commonly referred to as “lazy eye.” However, it may not be the condition medically diagnosed as amblyopia, wherein the weaker eye often wanders inward or outward. Amblyopia is the leading cause of decreased vision among children, and if left untreated, vision loss may range from mild to severe. As Jules described, Guy’s one eye appears “sleepier” than the other one. “If you look at his photos, I think it’s his left eye,” she told The Fix. “He calls it a lazy eye. I think it’s just a little more sleepy than the other one. If you have a look, you’ll probably notice it now.”

Guy’s “lazy eye” situation was brought up by “The Voice Australia” 2016 winner Alfie Arcuri, who admitted that given the opportunity to have plastic surgery, he’d have his droopy eye” fixed. “I swear Guy Sebastian had that when he won ‘Australian Idol ,’ and now it's gone,” Alfie told The Fix.”

In addition to making his mark in the music industry as the first “Australian Idol,” Guy has also made history in 2015 when he became the first-ever Australian contestant in Eurovision Singing Contest. After singing “Tonight Again,” he landed on the fifth spot in the grand finals. His successor, Dami Im, placed second in the competition this year.
