'Australian Idol' finalist Lisa Mitchell announces Australian tour

“Australian Idol” finalist Lisa Mitchell is preparing her Australian tour to promote a new album. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and all the way to Perth, Mitchell is going all around Australia in October.

The Sydney-based singer-songwriter has released her new track “The Boys” after finishing her European gap year. “The Boys” has already reached over 140,000 streams.

It’s the first single from her much-awaited second album “Warriors,” to be released on Oct. 14.

“We really got rid of a lot of guitar and piano in this album,” Mitchell was quoted by Yahoo News as saying. “I was interested in someone doing a different thing than what I’d done in the past. That felt refreshing.”

The 26-year-old singer said she started on her next album Warriors in 2013 before heading overseas with her partner, musician Jordan Wilson.

After finishing her two-year gap and refuelling her creativity, Mitchell is ready to release her second album on the second week of October.

“It has been a long time, two years since (last single) Wah Ha and we spent a bit of time living in London and Paris, looking after a friend’s cat,” she said.

“As much as I love creating for the sake of creating, in terms of what gets on an album, it’s these moments when I am not looking for it, that are inspiring.” Mitchell told The Daily Mail.

“Having a music career is such an incredible outlet for everything that happens in your life.”

Lisa Helen Mitchell is an English-born Australian singer-songwriter hailing from Albury, New South Wales. She reached the final six in season 4 of "Australian Idol" in 2016. Damien Leith won that season. Mitchell currently lives in Sydney and is busily working on her upcoming “Something About These Streets” national tour.
