Spring break is one of those best times of the year when family and friends spend some time with you in your humble abode. You can never tell when they’ll drop by or how long they’ll be staying but what’s important is you have the whole house prepared. Below you’ll find tips to making your home ready for spring.

  1. Clean up your house

It’s spring break so take some time off your usual routine and start your general house cleaning activities. Clean areas like your sink cupboards, basement, attic and other spaces in the house you don’t clean often. It’s also practical to de-clutter the whole place in preparation for summer by getting rid of stuffs you no longer need.

  1. Tend to your garden

Spring is when flowers start to bloom so make your garden stand out by clearing those patches of unwanted weeds and pests. You should also trim those hedges and bushes. You should also plant some new additions to your garden like herbs or vegetables.

  1. Add colours inside the house

Just like what Paloma Contreras said, you should update your pillow wardrobe by using pillowcases made of linen or cotton. Of course, you can also throw in some bright coloured rugs or printed ones such as those with floral designs. Change your curtains too using plain colours like white, yellow or light green.

  1. Go green

Make your home ready for spring by having some plants inside the house. You can look for indoor green plants and put them in clay pots. Place them in your living room to add a burst of colour. Meanwhile, you can have smaller potted plants in your kitchen window or as centrepiece in the living room.

  1. Outdoor makeovers

Repainting your fence, repairing the porch and pathway, and changing the bulbs outdoors can already make your place all set for spring. People often notice the changes in your house with what they can see from the outside. You can easily attract their attention with these simple makeovers.

Still haven’t started in making your home more “springy”? Use these tips to making your home ready for spring. They’re very easy to do and you’ll receive lots of positive responses when others see these changes in your home.
