Botox is now being injected in other body parts aside from the face. Among vain men, it is injected into their scrotum in a $3,600 (A$4,716) procedure called scrotox.

The new cosmetic surgery procedure helps ease sweating, lessens wrinkles and makes the balls appear larger by helping the muscles relax. Scrotox is now offered in clinics in the US, reports The Sun.

Even clinics, such as Transform, get a lot of inquiries from customers about although the national clinic does not offer the procedure. Requests have doubled in the past 12 months, but Transform is not giving in to patient demand because of the possible risks and complications associated with treating the male genital area, explains Mark Norfolk, clinical director at Transform.

While Norfolk confirms that injecting Botox in the scrotum could help with sweating issues, he says scrotox does not have much of an effect on reducing wrinkles since that male body part has a lot of loose skin which an injectable treatment could not just move, reports Metro.

He adds men who want less wrinkly family jewels should instead go for a nip and tuck procedure. Some men who had the procedure, such as cyclists and runners, did it to relieve them from skin irritations due to excess sweating and rubbing, says Wirth Plastic Surgery.

Dr Jason Emer, surgeon in Beverly Hills, in an article for Cosmetic Surgery Times, foresees scrotox becoming a trending topic among men from just being whispered, similar to the evolution of the designer vagina procedure.
