ZTE unveiled at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas its first Grand S phone that will compete with the other high technology smart phones like Apple's iPhone 5. The ZTE Grand S is deemed to be the world's thinnest phone at a 5-inch HD (1920x1080) display.

The latest phone provides several features and specifications that will certainly grab the attention of Apple iPhone 5 enthusiasts. ZTE Grand S may have a bigger screen display compared to iPhone 5 but it has a very thin measurement of only 6.9mm. Despite the thin design, Grand S is still featured with a microSD card slot.

The ZTE Grand S has a powerful 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip plus a 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in memory capacity. The device includes a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera and a 2-megapixel camera on the front that are both capable of video recording at 1080p.

Like iPhone 5, Grand S will support the 4G/LTE connectivity but ZTE has not yet revealed whether it will include frequencies fit for international use. Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the identified operating system complete with ZTE's new user interface compared to the iOS 6 of iPhone 5.

Other Grand S key features and specifications include the Dolby Digital surround audio, a 1780mAh battery and a range of software applications for the camera such as face recognition and panorama mode. Unlike the iPhone 5, device users can choose from different ZTE Grand S phone colors like glossy red, purple, yellow, blue, pink, black and white.

Meanwhile, ZTE claimed that the Grand S phone will only be on market sale in China before the end of March 2013 but admitted that the schedule could be changed to April 2013. The company did not give details about an international release date but reports suggest that the phone/tablet device mixture will be eventually launched to other countries like the United States. ZTE also manages to intrigue device consumers since the Grand S price has not been disclosed as well.
