Zac Efron caused quite a stir when he was forced to take off his shirt onstage at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year and took off his shirt several more times in his recent films "Neighbors" and "That Awkward Moment." This time around, Zac is shirtless once again but he's off on a 48-hour adventure with TV adventurer Bear Grylls.

Zac is the first guest in the new NBC series "Running Wild With Bear Grylls" in which Bear takes famous celebrities out on two-day adventures in remote places where they go through basic survival skills as well as undergo some adrenaline-pumping adventures.

In the pilot episode, Zac and Bear start off by sky diving into a remote area of the Catskill Mountains in south eastern New York. The pair are supposed to take a 14 mile hike to their extraction point where they would have successfully completed the adventurous challenge.

In true Bear Grylls fashion, some "Fear Factor" style dining is always part of the program. At one point in the show, Zac spots a dead groundhog which Bear tells him could still be fresh and could be useful if in a life or death situation out in the jungle. Zac then takes the carcass and opens it up to check and their natural nasal freshness gauge immediately declares that the animal is foul. Later on, something more appetising comes up as they find a nest filled with eggs but of course, some creepy crawlers would have to be part of the menu. Zac declares that the bugs taste like dirt but Bear stands by the fact that they are a good source of nutrition. Zac is also treated to some fern tea expertly brewed by Bear.

The first day involved some rapelling as well which Bear states is just a way to break in his Hollywood star guest. The following day, the two find their path hindered by a steep ravine.

In a death defying stunt, Bear guides Zac into crossing the ravine by crawling over a rope that spans the chasm. Zac flips over for a tense moment but manages to right himself on the rope to make it across.

In the final obstacle before they make it to the end of their adventure, the pair found themselves facing a steep 140-foot drop with a waterfall which the need to rappel down from if they want to get out. The two men take off their shirts and make their way down. The nerve-racking descent ends with a final leap into the water when the rope ends up too short for the entire distance.

Zac declares the adventure to be a camping trip gone crazy and Bear clearly showed his admiration for the actor who he said was a real team player. The upcoming episodes of the series will feature other stars like Ben Stiller and Channing Tatum.
