YouTube plans to introduce new changes and features, as the company has new ideas sketched for the video platform, which will be coming very soon, according to reports.

According to 9 to 5 Google, YouTube released a video wherein it discussed all it contemplates to implement as part of its initiative to make its video platform better. Some of the important points discussed by YouTube executives are mentioned below:

New subscription notifications: YouTube is working towards building a "simple new way to opt-in" from the YouTube mobile app, which will send notifications to users’ mobile, when their favourite creators publish a new video, the 9 to 5 Google report quoted Brian Marquardt, a Group Product Manager at YouTube, as saying. This is different from the current provision, in which users can manage email and notification subscriptions only from their desktop website.

New Types of cards: Currently, there are five types of YouTube cards and as per Product Marketing Manager Giulia Angi, YouTube is working on ‘lots of new card types’. Cards on YouTube are a way to include an extra layer of interactivity to a video, reports 9 to 5 Google.

Subscriptions: YouTube is working on a method to make it easier for users to access the subscriptions feed from the YouTube mobile app, allowing users to quickly get to the new videos.

Better Mobile Insights: According to Renato Verdugo, a researcher on the Creator Studio team, the app will soon get more types of analytics data as well as ‘new notifications to help you take action’. Currently, notifications from the app include analytics updates, policy notifications, social notifications, milestones and YouTube news.

Video management on the go: YouTube will soon add monetization settings to Creator Studio, which will allow channel owners to enable or disable Adsense monetization for each of their videos from anywhere.

360-degree and 3D videos: The addition of 360-degree support on YouTube was demoed by Google when the company unveiled the Project Jump VR camera. YouTube Communications Manager Mariana De Felice said, 3D video support will be coming to the mobile experience shortly.

New creator Community: YouTube will very soon launch an official forum for finding collaborations and sharing advice with other members of YouTube and provide direct feedback to YouTube.

Updated creator academy: YouTube’s Creator Academy offers a collection of lessons on how to master YouTube in terms of building an audience, monetizing videos, and more. Now the Creator Academy has improved search for finding relevant lessons and personalized recommendations for deciding what to learn next.

YouTube has dominated the digital video segment for quite a long time and such initiatives will serve as a preparation to compete against Facebook that has recently announced that it will share 55 percent of its ad revenue with video content creators, according to Re/Code.
