The Young and The Restless” (“Y&R”) promises to make this week’s installments even more explosive with a set of shocking revelations and dramatic twists. On Monday, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) seeks retribution for Adam’s (Justin Hartley) reported death. Spoilers suggest that she’ll blame Victor (Eric Braeden), and she’ll make sure he’ll pay the consequences.

Meanwhile, Victor gets embroiled into another argument with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), who has a stunning revelation about Adam. Speaking of Adam, a change awaits his character as actor Justin Hartley confirms he’s leaving the show. Other “The Young and the Restless” cast members who will appear on the Sept. 5 to 9 episodes include Neil (Kristoff St John), Lucinda (Nichelle Nichols), Paul (Doug Davidson), Dylan (Steve Burton), Kevin (Greg Rikaart), Billy (Jason Thompson), Summer (Hunter King), Jill (Jess Walton), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Jack (Peter Bergman), Cane (Daniel Goddard), Sharon (Sharon Case), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Nick (Joshua Morrow).

CBS released a preview video for the Sept. 5 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” In the trailer, Neil tells his mother that he really wants to bring the entire family to see her. “Son, that’s not going to happen,” she says. Meanwhile, Paul and Dylan arrive at Kevin’s doorstep. Paul asks if they caught Kevin at a bad time and says they’re looking for Chelsea. It turns out that Chelsea’s hiding on the stairs. Elsewhere, Victor tells Chloe, “You vicious little…” Chloe cuts him off and says, “Save it. You’re going to want to hear this.”

TV Guide reports that Tuesday’s installment focuses on Nick as he acts as the Newman family’s mediator. Meanwhile, Dylan starts a new investigation and Jack reels from a horrifying update.

Wednesday’s run centres on Nikki as she stands up for Victor, while Sharon pays homage to her past. Elsewhere, Billy and Cane forge an agreement.

On Thursday, “Y&R” airs an episode that deals with an interesting offer, which Phyllis proposes to Billy. Jack, on the other hand, makes amends with someone totally unexpected, while Victoria remains firm with her decision.

Wrapping the week on Sept. 9, Summer wants closure, while Jill confronts Phyllis. Meanwhile, Billy reaches a breaking point when he’s pushed too far.

“Y&R” cast update

Justin Hartley, who plays Adam Newman, took to Facebook on Friday to confirm that he’s leaving the long-running soap. “After many weeks of having to keep quiet in order not to spoil storylines for all of you, the time has finally come that I’m able to write you this letter,” he wrote. “Thank you for tuning in; thank you for letting me entertain you; thanks for entertaining me, and thank you for caring.”

He also shared a preview of his upcoming series, “This Is Us,” which airs on NBC on Sept. 20. “I’m beyond thrilled and proud of my new series…We have a sensational cast and crew, wonderful writing and I would be honored to have you all tune in and watch.” Hartley’s new television series follows a group of people born on the same day. He joins other “This Is Us” cast Mandy Moore, Jill Johnson, Chrissy Metz and Milo Ventimiglia.
