Samsung has pioneered the curved screen smartphone technology with the release of the Galaxy Note Edge. However, it is believed that the Note Edge is just the first among the many curved screen devices to hit the market and Xiaomi might just prove such speculations.

According to TechnoBuffalo, the Xiaomi Arch seems to imitate the Note Edge since it also plans to use the extra screen space to serve as display for notifications and menu shortcuts. But if rumours are true, Xiaomi's curved device might feature not one but two curved edges unlike Samsung's single curve. Such dual-sided curvature would definitely provide a unique look for the smartphone. On the other hand, speculations also say that the upcoming Galaxy S6 might also have two-curved edges.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note Edge has received mixed comments with its unique curvature. But with Android Community's review, it says that the curved screen on the Edge does not distort the pixels and the images on its screen doesn't look like stretched around the side. The device measures 151.3 x 82.4 x 8.3mm and weighs 174 grams.

When it comes to its specs, the Galaxy Note 4 Edge comes with a 5.6-inch 2560x1600 resolution 2K display. The Edge is powered by Qualcomm's 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor with Adreno 420 GPU for graphics processing. It is also equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage and is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It also features a 16-megapixel OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) rear-camera plus a front 3.7-megapixel shooter.

Despite some leaked images of the Xiaomi Arch, there is still no confirmation yet from the company regarding the rumoured double-curved edge device. Spectators also question the ability of Xiaomi to offer such unique smartphone and still maintain the affordable price which the company is known for.

The "Arch" simply seems like something that would cost a lot and experts say that this render seems too unrealistic.
