Recently, LG has been reported that it will launch at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show a new version of its curved smartphone called the G Flex 2. On the other hand, Xiaomi has also been rumoured to be working on its own version of a smartphone that might have dual-curved edges.

Looking back, the Korean tech company released its first version of the G Flex before the end of 2013 following the lead of Samsung's Galaxy Round. LG's follow-up version dubbed as the G Flex 2 might be equipped with a more impressive 64-bit processor and a tri-band carrier aggregation, which will allow the new device to have a faster upload and download speeds.

According to Phone Probe, the G Flex 2 might sport a 5-inch to 5.5-inch display, which appears to be smaller than its 6-inch predecessor. The new curved smartphone from LG might be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor which includes 64-bit architecture. The device can also support the Category 6 LTE, which means the Flex 2 can deliver an impressive 400 Mbps speed.

Other speculations say that it might be equipped with 13-megapixels rear camera and a front 5-megapixels camera. The G Flex 2 might also have 3GB of RAM, storage capability of 32GB and is rumoured to use the Android 5.0 Lollipop as its platform. This device might be powered by a 3200 mAh battery and is said to be available in silver variant.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi's rumoured two curved edges smartphone called as the Arch is at the moment a mere speculation and no further information is available. According to Techno Buffalo, there is no confirmation yet if the Chinese tech giant would make such device but production might be possible. Xiaomi has been famous for banking on low-priced smartphones that have enticed many consumers and many questions the company's ability to sell a dual-curved smartphone at an affordable price.

The entry of more curved smartphones might heat up the world market. The release of LG's G Flex2 and the possible production of Xiaomi's Arch might pose an interesting battle in the curved smartphone arena, not to forget the existence of other curved device like Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge.
