On Jan. 15, Xiaomi released two smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi Note and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. What is the difference between the two devices? IBTimes has pitted the two Xiaomi smartphones with each other on the basis of their specifications to know the difference.

Design And Display
The Xiaomi Mi Note and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro measures 155.1 x 77.6 mm and its thickness is 6.95 mm. Appearance-wise both the devices appear quite similar. However, the real difference lies in the components present inside the two phones.

The Xiaomi Mi Note comes with a 5.7-inch display that supports full HD resolution and 386 ppi. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro also comes with the same-sized display, but it supports Quad HD resolution along with 515 ppi. The front of the both the device is protected by toughened 2.5D glass at the front and the rear features 3D glass. One needs to be aware of the fact that Quad HD displays are known to impact the battery life as a lot of power is consumed by the processor to display more number of pixels, says Android Pit.

Processor, RAM And Storage
The Xiaomi Mi Note is powered by Snapdragon 801 chipset that comprises of 2.5 GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics. The chipset is supported by 3 GB of RAM, and it will be available in two storage options of 16 GB and 64 GB, states GSMArena.

On the other side, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is packed with the most recent Snapdragon 810 chipset that features a 64-bit octa-core processor with one Cortex A57 quad-core processor running at 2 GHz while the other Cortex A53 quad-core processor processing at 1.5 GHz, reveals GSMArena. The chipset is also equipped with Adreno 430 graphics and the faster 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and it is coupled with 64 GB native storage. The Mi Note Pro promises superior performance as the Snapdragon 810 is the most recent chipset from Qualcomm whereas the Mi Note smartphone featuers an older chipset.

Camera, Connectivity, Software And Battery
There is a 13 MP IMX214 CMOS camera from Sony sitting on the rear panel of the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro along with dual-tone flash and optical image stabilisation. The front side of both the devices features a 4 MP UltraPixel camera from HTC.

The Xiaomi Mi Note as well as the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro comes with dual-SIM slots with support 4G connectivity. Both also feature other connectivity features like v4.1 Bluetooth, v2.0 microUSB, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac and more.

The Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are blessed with Android 5.0 Lollipop overlaid with the latest MIUI 6 software. Also, both the handsets are packed with a 3000 mAh battery. Both the devices are more or less on par with each other in this segment as they sport the same features.
