Xiaomi has been at the centre of tech news, rumours and announcements over the last few weeks, and now the company’s upcoming Mi 5 flagship has been spotted in live images revealing key design specifications.

At the same time, news coming from China indicates that the Xiaomi Mi Note will receive a Marshmallow update this week.

The leaked live images of the Xiaomi Mi 5 showcase the smartphone in an all-metal body. The images surfaced reveal the Black variant of the device. The back panel of the rumoured handset clearly shows a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera.

These leaked images contradict earlier leaks which state that Xiaomi Mi 5 will house a physical Home button integrated with a fingerprint scanner. However, it is worth noting that in the leaked images, only the back panel of the smartphone can be seen.

In the another piece of news, it appears that the leading Chinese smartphone-maker has already completed beta testing of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Xiaomi Mi Note and will be rolling out the update starting Jan. 22. There are rumours that Xiaomi smartphones running on Android 4.4. KitKat may skip v5.0 Lollipop and directly get updated to Android 6.0.

The company is also to expected to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Xiaomi Mi4i, Xiaomi Mi4c, Xiaomi Note 2, Xiaomi Note 2 Prime and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. Google announced its latest Android operating system along with the Nexus 5X made by LG and Huawei Nexus 6P.
