Even though Xiaomi is silent on the Mi 5 release date, the rumour mill is consistently spilling beans on its leaked renders and specifications. A fresh video has surfaced showing the Mi 5 action. Several renders have also emerged that show the smartphone in multiple colour variants.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 leaked video shows the white coloured variant in action. It can be seen sitting on a wooden dock. The video clip that lasts only for about 30 seconds shows a user occasionally touching the screen to show its smooth performance, Times News UK reported.

Another report from the same publication has revealed leaked renders of the Xiaomi Mi 5 in multiple colours such as pink, gold, white and black. Since the front panel houses a physical Home button, it is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner.

Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will arrive with a 5.2-inch screen and that it will carry support for Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Other rumours claim that it will carry support for full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

It will be one of the first smartphones of 2016 to come with Snapdragon 820 chipset onboard. It features a quad-core processor and Adreno 530 graphics. The SoC will deliver smooth performance as it will be accompanied by 4 GB of RAM.

The main camera of the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be of 16 MP and the one expected on the front panel will be of 8 MP. It will be packed with a 3,030 mAh battery. It is expected to release with Android Marshmallow OS modified with MIUI 7 software.

Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to arrive in internal storage options like 16 GB and 64 GB. Rumours are rife that the starting model will cost $309 (AU$425).

Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is also slated to release alongside the Mi 5. Most of the specs of the Mi 5 Plus will be same as that of Mi 5 smartphone. However, it is expected to feature a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch display. It is expected to be available at a starting cost of $387 (AU$532), Times News UK reported.
