Xiaomi is expected to showcase its Mi5 flagship smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016. Rumours suggest that the smartphone will be launched in both Android and Windows 10 Mobile variants.

It is very likely that a Windows 10 Mobile variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5 is on the way, WM Power User reported. In the past, Microsoft and Xiaomi have worked together to release the Windows 10 Mobile ROM. The Xiaomi MI Pad 2 tablet that was released recently also comes in Android and Windows 10 versions.

The Mi Pad 2 powered by Android OS is available in storage editions of 32 GB and 64 GB. On other side, the Windows 10 Mi Pad 2 only features 64 GB of storage. It does not feature a mobile version of the OS but a full-fledged desktop OS.

The Xiaomi MI 5 powered by Windows 10 Mobile OS will feature the same specifications as its Android variant. Apart from the Lumia 950 XL smartphone, there is no other flagship smartphone from a well-known brand running on Windows 10 Mobile OS. The much awaited Xiaomi Mi 5 is likely to become the most powerful Windows 10 Mobile OS smartphone and could certainly increase the user base of Windows 10 Mobile OS.

Rumours suggest that the Mi 5 will be coming with a 5.2-inch screen that will carry support for full HD resolution. It will be a pressure-sensitive display that will deliver 3D Touch feature on the new iPhone 6s models. The entirely metal-clad smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset.

It will come in two storage editions of 32 GB and 64 GB. The former is expected to feature 3 GB of RAM whereas the latter will be coming with 4 GB of RAM. For photography, the smartphone will be equipped with 16 MP rear and 8 MP front cameras. The smartphone will be packed with a 3,600 mAh battery.
