Microsoft reveals its latest gaming console eight years and nine days following its first release of Xbox. Today, the company revives its gaming unit and introduces the Xbox One - and it is not just a gaming console.

Xbox One is a long standing and risky bet for Microsoft as the market has already been saturated with more than just gaming consoles. Competitions now include smart phones and computer gaming devices. Nintendo and Sony also remain competitive in the field. Microsoft is taking its turn.

Throughout the years, Xbox has featured additional functions like Kinect. It remained dominant and popular among gamers retaining the core of its capabilities. As Microsoft lays out of its cards today with the new Xbox one, people are asking, what is in for gamers this time?

All-in-One Entertainment

The new generation of consumers is all about entertainment and Xbox One is targeting that. The company claims their new device can recognize people's names, their voice and their type of movies. That is a big plus especially how interactive with their gadgets people have become.

The Interactive Entertainment Business unit at Microsoft says this feature will lead the Xbox. Gamers are quick to learn new technology and this will not come in vain. The next generation of Xbox will be focusing on a range of technologies and applications like streaming and cloud-interfacing. It provides users an all-in-one gaming and entertainment system.

Additional Controls

Gamers can now turn on the console by simply saying "turn on." Xbox will automatically start with the last activity of the user before turning it off. While the console was greatly responsive during the demo, Microsoft has to clear yet whether it has already incorporated the technology or it is under simulation.

Xbox One will feature a television option as well. By simply saying "Xbox, watch TV," the console will bring the user to their latest television feed. It will be easier to switch from games, to TV and movies. Commands like "Go to movies" and "Xbox, go to" can take the user to anything they want.

Multiple Functions

The new Xbox comes with Window 8's snap one. This means gamers can use one application and "snap" it to the side while running another application. They can also use the application while playing games, watching TV or movie simultaneously. Users can do a walk-through or snap of the game they are playing with this feature. It is also possible to play a game or watch something while using Skype.

New Kinect

The latest Kinect will have better detection capabilities. It also has a 1080 sensor allowing gamers to capture videos by as much as 60fps. The new Kinect does a better job determining the balance of the gamer, their wrist movement and even heartbeat. Microsoft expanded the sensors to 60 percent providing next-level gaming experience.
