Microsoft has finally announced who will be the next person to head the Sony rival, and the name that came up was Satya Nadella. The five-month search for a new Microsoft CEO has concluded with the announcement of Satya Nadella as the third CEO over at Microsoft's web site.

"During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Microsoft than Satya Nadella. Satya is a proven leader with hard-core engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth," said Microsoft founder Bill Gates in a press release.

So what does having a new CEO mean for the Xbox One? At the very least, he won't be following the footsteps of a previously thought of candidate as CEO for Microsoft, Stephen Elop.

In a report from Cinema Blend, Phil Spencer mentioned in a tweet that Satya was the kind of CEO who viewed Xbox gaming from a positive perspective.

"Yes, I know Satya. He's been a good supporter of Studios and XBOX," said Spencer in a response to a fan query.

And while his sights are really banked on the possibilities of software evolution and digitization, as well as the interconnectedness of devices, potentially to propel Microsoft's lagging pace behind other competitors, there is a chance that the Xbox One and the Xbox franchise will finds its niche in Nadella's vision for Microsoft as a company.

Halo 2 Anniversary was never real

Despite the number of speculations and hopes of Halo fans to see Halo 2 as an anniversary edition on the Xbox One, Microsoft has finally given a statement regarding the leak.

OXM reports that the box art for the supposed Halo 2 Anniversary Edition is nothing but a rumour, and that the possible November 11 release date this year may not happen.

It seems that the rumour had been fueled by the fact that Microsoft's Phil Spencer was unable to give a definitive answer in a tweet in response to a query regarding the Halo 2 Anniversary game.

"Never get tired of questions on what's coming. Just can't always answer as we need news at events. Halo 2 is a good game..." was the response from Spencer.

*Aside from the PS4 console outselling the Xbox One, it seems that the PS4 is also taking the numbers game for its titles against Xbox One's own roster of games. Read here for more.

According to the report, a more definitive-though not entirely conclusive answer from Microsoft is as follows: "Other than confirming that your Halo journey on Xbox One begins in 2014, we have made no announcements related to specific titles."

Anything else is supposedly based on speculations alone. Looking at the image from OXM of the supposed leaked Halo 2 Anniversary edition, fans have pointed out that the "2" in the cover looks very much photoshopped, as can be seen by the lines where the pasted area may be found. What do you think of Microsoft's statement? Final or no?

Murdered: Soul Suspect coming to PS4, Xbox One

Square Enix is preparing yet another game for release after Thief, this time titled Murdered: Soul Suspect.

The game was first announced on the Xbox One, but CVG adds that it can also be expected on the PS4. Not just that, last-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 will also get the title, while PC gamers will also not get left behind.

A thriller and ghostly game rolled in one, Murdered: Soul Suspect puts you in the shoes of the murdered party who can't seem to rest in the afterlife and is bent on solving the murder case to find the killer.

If you have either of the next-gen consoles, it might be best to get the game for these consoles, as Square Enix has announced that next-gen versions of the game will be more immersive and realistic in terms of the world you'll move in.
