"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated for a U.S. release on May 27, 2016. Despite the fact that the movie is still two years away, storyboarding will reportedly already be in place this year and would include a Quicksilver scene.

Newsarama recently spoke with "X-Men: Days of Future Past" second unit director Brian Smrz, who revealed that he's been tasked to make an early start with storyboarding. "I'll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it'll be full-time," he said.

Brian Smrz didn't reveal further details about the movie production. However, he did confirm that fans would be delighted once again to see another Quicksilver scene in "X-Men: Apocalypse." "Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I'm looking forward to; that'll be fun," he said in the interview.

The director also teased of a possible spinoff movie for Quicksilver. He claimed he would "love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there's a lot to enjoy with that character."

Quicksilver's kitchen sequence in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was hailed as the best scene in the movie, according to the International Business Times. The slow-motion sequence reportedly received great reviews because of its originality and style. Evan Peters even reached stardom following his portrayal of the character. Asked on his take about his scene, the actor claimed it took a lot of work. There were repeated takes and motion capture camera moves. According to IBTimes, the latter was achieved using a phantom camera that shoots in super slow motion. It was very time-consuming, Brian Smrz said in his interview.

While Bryan Singer had a hand at directing, it was Smrz who reportedly did most of the work in Quicksilver's kitchen sequence in "X-Men: Days of Future Past." He couldn't have been happier with the outcome. As he said in his interview, it was one of the best scenes he's proud of. Evan Peters, on the other hand, was reportedly also happy with the outcome and said he couldn't wait to star in the sequel. Apparently, Brian Smrz' interview just confirmed his involvement in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
